Why Mindshare? - Glossary

Lipstick on a Pig:

Trying to make something look better than it is. An expression often used in the business world, politics, or sales. As the saying goes, "you can put Lipstick on a Pig, but it's still a Pig." Used car salesmen and politicians are often associated with "putting Lipstick on a Pig," or dressing up something (an idea, a service, or a product) to disguise the fact that it isn't what you really need or want. We've found that the business world has its share of porcine disguisers as well, who promise the world but fail miserably when put to the test.

As a friendly warning to our clients and potential clients, we remind you to please make sure you truly evaluate your service providers (including the companies who help you gather customer feedback). We are constantly amazed at the features and benefits our competitors CLAIM they have, until they are really pushed to DEMONSTRATE them. At Mindshare, we don't put lipstick on anything. What you see is what you get. If we can't do something (yet) we tell you upfront. If we say we can, we can.
