Why Mindshare? - Glossary

IVR:

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is an automated, computerized telephony system that interacts with callers, gathers information, and routes calls to the appropriate recipient. An IVR system accepts a combination of voice input and touch-tone keypad selection from callers (as opposed to the older, touch tone keypad only interaction of older telephony systems). IVR provides appropriate responses to the callers in the form of voice, fax, callback, e-mail and perhaps other media.

IVR technology enables an Automated Attendant, which takes the place of a live operator in most businesses today. An automated attendant lists off menu choices and asks callers to say what they need (technical support, returns, billing, etc.). With Interactive Voice Response, the automated attendant answers and directs calls in call centers and to businesses with large call volumes.

Mindshare has invested over $7.5 Million dollars to perfect a purpose-built application that surpasses typical IVR technology. Because of this, our customers no longer have to settle for antiquated, traditional IVR technology.
