Kurt Williams has more than 15 years of experience envisioning software products and bringing them to reality.
He oversees technology and product development at Mindshare Technologies.
Kurt is a software design innovator and Internet pioneer with more than fifteen years of experience in architecting solutions for technology start-ups. With extensive experience in enterprise-level software development, product design, information architecture, and user experience design, Kurt specializes in crafting solutions to complex business problems.
In 2010, Kurt was the recipient of the CTO of the Year Award from the Utah Technology Council.
At Mindshare, Kurt leads one of Utah's best software development teams. He provides product vision and oversees the development and implementation of Mindshare's hosted software solutions. He also provides leadership and direction for product management and is responsible for creating the platform the company has built its business on.
Kurt was director of software design for BlueStep, Inc. from 1999 to 2002. He also worked with Sungard Data Systems as director of Internet technology. While at Sungard, he created highly interactive web-based solutions for major clients including State Farm, USAA, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and IBM. Prior to his work with Sungard, Kurt founded the Web Solutions Group at Sterling Wentworth in 1997, a financial services software company. Before Sterling Wentworth, Kurt developed practice management software for healthcare software startup The Hoehne Group from 1994 to 1997.
As CTO of a company built on new technology, Kurt has a few thoughts on innovation: “Innovation doesn't happen by running with the first idea that comes to you. You have to be willing to wrestle ideas longer than other people will. You have to be willing to take one step past where you were comfortable. That next step always stretches you, but it's where the good ideas lie.”
Kurt also remembers the words from his favorite fortune cookie: “Every truly great accomplishment is at first impossible.”
Kurt holds a bachelor's degree from Weber State University, specializing in software engineering and economics.
