Giving Back

Mindshare Technologies understands the importance of giving back to the community.  Each member of Mindshare's executive team dedicates many hours of their free time to volunteer work.  Many employees also volunteer, serving as coaches, Boy Scout leaders, or in other capacities.  In 2009, donations from the Mindshare team enabled one of our employees to spend a week working in an orphanage and building an adobe brick home for a family in Mexico.  This kind of commitment keeps us grounded and helps remind us what is truly important. In addition to individual community support, Mindshare has collectively chosen to officially support three charities, all chosen for very special reasons.

Ouelessebougou Alliance
The Ouelessebougou Alliance is an organization that works with 72 villages in Mali, West Africa. Their focus is on humanitarian and development efforts, including three major efforts:  (1) Health: building wells, health training, vaccinations, mosquito netting; (2) Education:  school construction, teacher training and stipends and providing school supplies; and (3) Economic Development:  village loans for self-reliance and business training.

Richard Hanks, President of Mindshare Technologies, has been involved with the Ouelessebougou Alliance since 1988. It is a project that is dear to his heart and his family. He has been to West Africa several times to see for himself the change that this organization has brought to the people there.  It has had a profound effect on his life and he feels privileged to be involved.  Mindshare supports the Alliance's annual dinner and auction fundraiser, and invites our employees to participate.

Primary Children's Medical Center

Mindshare also supports Primary Children's Medical Center, a non-profit health care organization that serves the needs of children in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Montana. The hospital is equipped to treat children with complex illness and injury and is recognized as one of the top children's hospitals in the United States.
John Sperry, CEO of Mindshare Technologies, has been involved with Primary Children's Medical Center  for over five years.  John has a son who has a heart condition that requires on-going surgeries since he was one-month old.

John knows firsthand the power of this great non-profit hospital.  Mindshare supports Primary Children's by buying many Christmas trees at Salt Lake City's annual Festival of Trees event each year.  At this event, donated trees are beautifully decorated and put on display for a week. At the end of the week the trees are auctioned off to the highest bidder with the proceeds going to Primary Children's Medical Center. Mindshare purchases multiple trees that decorate our office for the Christmas season before they are auctioned off to employees, with all the proceeds again going to Primary Children's.

Utah Food Bank

In addition, Mindshare provides donations to Utah Food Bank Services, an organization dedicated to building stronger communities by providing programs and services that address the immediate needs of low-income individuals and families. The mission of the organization is to meet immediate basic needs of people in our community who don't know where else to turn.

At Mindshare, we all have seen and experienced difficult times. We have been blessed with a profitable company and feel that giving to those who have not been as fortunate is an important part of being responsible members of our community.
